Key Stage 2 Football

The Year 5/6 football team have got off to a brilliant start in this year’s Football League. Our first fixture was at home and saw us play against English Martrys. The boys were in top form and got off to a flying start with Year 6 pupil Joseph Swallow Scoring a hat trick! This was then followed up by Josh Randhawa adding another to the total to make for a 4-0 win! Next, we faced a strong side from St Patrick’s and after numerous chances and goal scoring opportunities, had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Last Week the team travelled to St John Bosco In our second fixture of the season. First we faced rival school St Paul’s.  After a steady start, the deadlock was broken by a brilliant goal from the goal- hungry Joseph swallow in Year 6. This was then added to by a fantastic goal from year 5 pupil Joseph Mcginley to take the match 2-0! Following this, we faced an in-form side from St John Bosco. After a back and forth game, we again had to settle for a 0-0 Draw. Well done to goalkeeper Matthew Bennett of Year 6 for keeping a clean sheet in all 4 games.

The team have represented themselves and the school impeccably so far and have been a credit to Benedict Biscop. The next fixture will take place after the Christmas break. Well done boys!
